Probably the hardest thing to get across to people interested in content marketing or building an “audience first” business is that you have to stand for something.
You can’t be afraid of “saying the wrong thing.” You can’t create bland content in an attempt to appeal to everyone, because you will appeal to no one. To connect strongly with some, you have to be willing to send the “wrong” people away — and be happy about it.
This is the topic I had in mind for the season finale of the show since May. And then the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery added an entirely more important context to the topic:
