Hey, hey … it’s 2020 and as promised, the podcast is back for a new season of shows!
But you’ll notice a change. The show is now called 7-Figure Small, and better reflects the kind of stories and strategies we’ll be sharing with you.
In the first episode of the season, we’re talking about the most important of the fundamentals of building a high-impact business without investors or employees. And that, of course, is audience.
Notably, not content. Content is likely the best way to attract an audience, but that doesn’t mean you should spend all your time creating tons of it. In fact, you can do the important work of figuring out what your audience wants to buy with other people’s content.
Tune in for the whole discussion between Jerod and I:
Why the Right Audience is the Key to Building Your Perfect Business
And don’t be shy … hit reply to this email and let me know what you think. I read every one, and I’ll try to respond as well.
Speaking of other people’s content, our regular selection of resources curated by our own Kat Ambrose kicks back in next week. In the meantime, here are a couple items that have caught my eye to kick off 2020:
“It Won’t Be Pretty: How the Next Decade’s Technological Tsunami Will Change Life as We Know It
This is the recurring theme you hear me talking about here, at Further, and at Copyblogger. Technologies like AI, augmented reality, and even 5G will provide big opportunities to solo entrepreneurs and 7-Figure Small businesses. It’s also going to get super weird in general, and managing that will become just as much a part of your work as adapting to the tech itself.
The Passion Economy and the Future of Work
The ideas driving “7-Figure Small” are showing up everywhere. This article, ironically, shows up on the website of venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, the very type of people we don’t need.
